THE DARJEELING LIMITED
A friend recently commented that the new Wes Anderson movie looks like a parody of a Wes Anderson movie. I dunno, I'm more optimistic. I think these folks think W.A. is on a downhill trajectory, but while LIFE AQUATIC was certainly his worst film, it was definitely not a bad film - it had enough inventiveness for five films.
But the main reason I'm excited is because the trailer features two Kinks songs.

Hey Andy, I just have to let you know that I enjoy reading your blog more than I enjoy reading my own, 1 post though it may be (or more than I would enjoy reading my own if I was somebody else with similar aesthetic interests). I'm envious because I barely missed seeing the new herzog movie, and your description nearly made me salivate. Unfortunately I have no access to good new movies here, except for extremely cheap pirated copies that don't work with american dvd players (their movie theaters only play nigerian films). Anyway, I'm sure I'll write about what I'm reading later on, but lately I've barely been able to read anything. Keep it up and sorry I've been a derelict commenter if still faithful reader.
